Two Nighttime Spectaculars and More Debuting for Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary!

October 1, 2021 - Walt Disney World turns 50! To celebrate, not only is there going to be an 18-month party, Walt Disney World is debuting some new things too!

First up, at The Magic Kingdom, the new nighttime spectacular, "Disney Enchantment", an evening extravaganza that will take Guests on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment. With music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive effect projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A, everyone will be inspired to believe in magic.

Over at Epcot, "Harmonious" will be one of the biggest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney park. The globe will come together at World Showcase Lagoon in a celebration of Disney music that is set to inspire people around the world. It's a grand tribute to the stories and songs that unite us. "Harmonious" will utilize new technical magic including pyrotechnics, choreographed moving fountains, lighting and media. Guests will be invited to travel the globe through new interpretations of classic Disney songs - as you have never heard them before! They have been reimagined in more than a dozen languages by a diverse group of 240 artists from around the world.

Disney's Animal Kingdom is the home to new daytime entertainment. "Disney Kite Tails," will come alive several times a day at the Discovery River Amphitheater. Debuting on October 1, 2021, performers will fly windcatchers and kites of all shapes and sizes, while out on the water elaborate three-dimensional kites- some stretching to 30 feet long. The kites will depict Disney animal friends including Simba, Zazu, Baloo and King Louie. This is a fun break and show for the whole family!

"The World's Most Magical Celebration", will be hosted by none other than Mickey and Minnie Mouse...and they will be decked out in sparkling new EARidescent fashions for the 50th Anniversary! Guests will get a chance to see them and their best friends several times daily in the new "Mickey's Celebration Cavalcade".

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto and Chip 'n' Dale will be featured as special golden character sculptures debuting at the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 2021. There will be 50 characters in total in this series of sculptures, which will be spread out throughout the four theme parks. More information of the "Disney Fab 50" will be coming soon!

Starting this fall, Guests can bring home the new coffee table book, "Walt Disney World: A Portrait of the First Half Century". The book shows us an insider's look at the history and evolution of Walt Disney World. Written by Kevin Kern, Tim O'Day and Steven Vagnini, the book will be available for purchase beginning September 28, 2021 at Walt Disney World, shopDisney.com and wherever books are sold. Last but certainly not least, "The World's Most Magical Celebration" will also see the grand opening of Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot on October 1, 2021.
